Our Process

Timber and Nail Furniture Co exists because of a gap we kept seeing: on one side, flimsy particle-board entryway furniture that sags within a year; on the other, custom built-ins that cost more than a used car. We thought there should be something in between. Solid wood, made to your order, at a price that doesn't require a second mortgage.

How a piece comes to life

Our East Tennessee workshop is where every piece becomes yours. We take solid wood furniture built to our exacting specs and put it through the part machines can't do: hand-sanding, hand-staining or painting in your chosen color, a durable protective topcoat, and a final inspection with our name on the line. If it wouldn't pass in our own homes, it doesn't ship to yours.

Why made-to-order

We don't warehouse finished furniture. Your piece is finished after you order it, in your color, for your home. That takes longer than two-day shipping, and it's the reason your hall tree won't look like everyone else's. We keep you posted at every stage, from finish work to the day the freight truck calls to schedule your delivery.

Built for real life

Entryways take a beating: wet boots, heavy coats, kids, dogs, and everything they drag in. We finish every piece to stand up to all of it, and our Care guide keeps it simple from there. This is furniture meant to be used hard and kept for decades.
